       Women empowerment refers to increase and improve the social, political, economic and legal strength of the women, to ensure equal rights to women, and  make them confident enough to claim their rights. In our country women are facing lot of problems from our the different parts of our society. To overcome this problem women empowerment is must. Empowerment of women would mean  encouraging women to be self_reliant, independent, have positive self esteem, generate confidence to face any difficulty situation and invite active participation in various sociopolitical development endeavors.

The growing conscience is to accept women as individuals capable of making rational and educated Decision about them as well as the society, increasing and improve all the rights of  the women in all kind of society, to give equal rights for men and women, give importance for women in all places like society, family workplace etc. Discrimination against women is  rampant all over the world even in this 21 century. Crime directed specifically against women are reported from all over the world.

   There still remain questions  about the acceptance of women empowerment is the most advanced of countries, while developing nations and nations under political duress are far from achieving the desired status. The position of the women and the status of the women all over the world has raised incredibly in the 20 Th century. A long struggle going back over a century has brought women the property rights, voting rights, inequality in  civil rights before the law in  matters of marriage and employment. In addition to the above rights, in India, the customs  of vile system, female infanticide, child marriage, Sathi pratha, dowry system  were either totally removed or checked to an appreciable extent after independence to legislative measures.

Apart from these many welfare schemes for women and child like' Beti Bachavo Beti Padavo 'scheme, 'Ujjawla', 'I C D S',  'Kishori Sakthi Yojana' etc. Have been launched by the Indian government. From these above it may be expected that with a strong determination, commitment and involvement of people and organizations  with philanthropic  motive and  a rational outlook, that the problem that the women faced, can be solved overcome  for promoting  national rejuvenation and  development.
